Duart Castle 
Duart Castle
Duart is a stronghold of the MacLeans, and 
rebuilt by them in 1910. It is a superb
setting by the sea, and controlled the
Sound of Mull and the entrance to 
Loch Linnhe.

Duart Front from the Ferry View
This was taken from the ferry as it passes the
MacLean stronghold, upon approaching
the Isle of Mull. It is an imposing site to
see this fortress rising up out of the
shoreline rock.

Duart  Black and White
Duart Black and White
The earliest parts of the castle date back 
to the 1400's. It was a complete
ruin when it was rebuilt from 1910-1912.
Visitors are welcome and tours are
guided through daily. The inside of
the castle is most impressive. Plan
to spend some time there.
