Grianan of Aileach is only reachable by a healthy climb, all uphill! The views on the way up and from the ramparts is superb, seen in the distance is Lough Swilly. It really does feel as if you are on top of the world.

Known as Dumha na a nGiall, the Mound of the Hostages, a grassy hummock with a low doorway, is a Stone Age passage grave where the great High King Cormac MacArt (A.D. 227-266) imprisoned captives from Connacht until they died. Located in Co. Meath at the Hill of Tara.
